i-SAFE Sexting

What is sexting and revenge porn?

"the act of text messaging someone in the hopes of having a sexual encounter with them later; initially casual, transitioning into highly suggestive and even sexually explicit"

If you send a picture to your friend you can ask for it back.  If your friend posts it on line ask them to delete it immediately. Then Un-tag yourself and report it so it can be removed. As it might have already been seen by your other friends that you trust ask them to help hunt down images and also delete and/or report each images they find.

If anyone has posted sexual or naked photos or videos of you online, report them to the service they posted it on.  Remember they cannot share your image without your permission.

You might also want to tell your parents. It is possible they may find out about sexting some other way. They might be upset, angry or in shock, so you might like to ask a trusted friend or relative to help.

We know this is a terrible time for you and you need to do a few things. Delete everything without looking at it, remove “person's name” from your electronic devices and spend time with friends and family that you trust. You are not the only one that has been posted on the internet.

Sexting is closely related to Revenge Porn. This is when you didn't do what your friend wanted or you dumped them. To pay you back they posted nude picture of you on the internet.

Remember that you also do not know who is watching your images on line . The famous image on the right can be seen as a young girl or an old hag. Recently a man was arrested after he pretended to be Justin Bieber. Would you believe this on-line person who was sexting was truly Justin. He posted photos of Justin, he wrote words that Justin used and he was on Facebook. Well 900 young girls believed him. Another in the UK did the same thing. He too was arrested. All victims sent naked photos and videos of themselves.

Take Care what pictures you send to anyone on line

Be SAFE. Don't trust the internet
