Rape statistics on false claims about being sexually assaulted not useful!

Recently there has been a flurry of rape statistics that support the view that females make false claims of being sexually assaulted.

Some relate to universities other are media opinions etc. Psychologists and activists from all sides of this debate go out of their way to find fault with any report based on statistics, that does not, in their view, tell the truth and then publish an opinion on the internet.

However the internet is not known for its accuracy and it is difficult to obtain genuine (factual) that is up to date. It is possible, to present a lie by telling a truth. For example a fact based on a statistic that was produced in 1990 is true but to present it as the latest situation makes it a lie.

Also, rape statistics  depends on the methods of collecting data. For example Rape in Sweden has a legal definition described in Chapter 6 in the Swedish Penal Code. Historically, rape has been defined as forced sexual intercourse initiated against a woman or man by one or several people, without consent. In recent years, several revisions to the definition of rape have been made to the law of Sweden, to include not only intercourse but also comparable sexual acts against someone incapable of giving consent, due to being a child, or in a vulnerable situation, such as a state of fear or unconsciousness etc.

Most rape research and reporting to date has been limited to male-female forms of rape. Research on male-male and female-male is beginning to be done. However, almost no research has been done on female-female rape, though women can be charged with rape in a few jurisdictions.

Based on the above what we are about to say may not be exact but it is held by many that only about 2% of all rape and related sex charges are determined to be false. This is about the same percentage as for other felonies (FBI). So while they do happen, and they are very problematic when they do, people claim that allegations are false far more frequently than they are and far more frequently than for other crimes.  Put another way, we are much more likely to disbelieve a woman if she says she was raped than if she says she was robbed, but for no good reason. Also, rape statistics cannot be accurate when only about 40% of rapes are ever reported to the police, and this is partly because victims know that if their claim becomes public, their every behavior will be scrutinized, they will be shamed for their sexual history, and they will be labeled as lunatic, psychotic, paranoid, and manipulative.  Just because someone does not report their crime does not mean it did not happen. Compare this to say robbery where it would be rare for someone to not report this immediately.

Our organisation is not interested in counting the number of people who make false claims

We only trust surveys done by ourselves.  It is so easy to compile the number of structures destroyed by fire, or earthquakes and an analysis of the structure and circumstance leads to better building methods of construction. The samples are 100%. In the study  of sexual assaults no one has any idea of  the total number therefore it is impossible to say what percent are false, or indeed do we need to know how many don't report, or the need to make lists breaking all of them into age groups, gender, race or which country is worse than others. Also how many complainants are simply not believed and falsely labelled? So many domestic violence deaths were done after the victim was not believed and refused protection from the police. Some even tell the complainant to stop calling them.

So what do we believe?

We do not believe that rape statistics , or any studies that just produce lists.  However, there is enough evidence to give us a very good idea of what is needed to solve this worldwide epidemic of sexual assaults.  We still care for victims but Team Jane's main focus is to defend the truth, to obtain justices and fairness in order to protect innocents. Here are some details of our program
Societies everywhere have been programmed over decades of  propaganda to influence what we all seem to believe.  Modern media focus on words that dramatise  an event to capture reader's attention in order to boost sales. These create a public opinion based on part of a story that  each person forms an opinion of who is the guilty party.  But is what you hear or read the whole truth? Our 21st Century Family Survival Guide is written to help all people understand many things including risk management. We talk about risk on the internet, or crossing a road, or walking alone at night.
We do conduct surveys. However we do not publish them and use the information to modify, or add to our various programs. We also provide information as to how and why our body and our brain are our greatest asset.  It is important to understand how our brain does so much without any help from what we believe is us. The body and brain built our body and you were born ready to take in your first breath of air.
You begin, at birth, a lifetime journey of learning. You become the result of the people you meet who transfer their ideas and experience and this together your education and training.  you begin to understand what is right and what is wrong. This depends on the company you keep of course. Our conscience play a big part in the way we live. The word NO is probably the first important word we learn as a child. There are very few people who do not understand what this word means. Team Jane research as to why predators seem to have forgotten what the word no means and we found all sort of reasons. Some are unbelievable in logic but our list of myths and misconceptions and psychological problems is large and many are used often.
Because one solution doesn't fit all problems we make sure that our guide help everyone regardless of age, gender, or race but we have a special section to look out for children, or any person who is vulnerable, who are unable to identify predators. The old way of protecting children was to tell them to not talk to strangers.  We now know that there is a few strangers involved by an overwhelming number of crimes against children are from people they know. Our understanding of who to trust becomes fragile when people in positions of trust take advantage. Our website articles on this subject  have been in the top 10 of our posts being viewed by 75 (average) new viewers per day. SEARCH OUR WEBSITE for "CHILD ABUSE". Here is our top post to start with.
